Agate Recording Studios is a family-operated recording studio, led by audio engineer, Ben Garms.
Ben Garms and his family didn’t set out to build a recording studio. They simply wanted a way to create high-quality music without breaking the bank. What started as a makeshift setup in a storage closet has now become a full-service recording space, helping Christian music artists bring their songs to life—without the stress or costs of Nashville.
We believe professional recording for should be affordable, simple, and satisfying. Whether you need a fully produced album or friendly ear, we make the process smooth so you can focus on what you do best—making music, impacting listeners, and glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Facility
From the quiet hills of a little town in Wisconsin, Agate Recording Studios is a gem in the world of audio. A full-service audio studio in a 2,500 sq. foot space, we’ll make your dream project happen. Record in our Wisconsin studio, or send us your tracks—we’ll mix and master them remotely.

A Cappella Hymn
The Garms Family recorded “Abide with Me” on their Hymns project. Ben recorded and blended their eight voices to bring out the beauty of the message.

A Full Studio Album
Gary Freeland, a well-loved pastor and soloist from western Iowa, wanted to continue his series, Favorite Songs of Faith. His goal was to take his music beyond vocals and piano, and feature his group, P44, which had never recorded an album together. Ben was able to help him fulfill his dream through track creation, vocal recording, mixing and mastering a 14-song album.

Jordan Johnson, an accomplished drummer, wanted content for his YouTube channel that featured his talents and heart of worship. Ben was able to help him create a drum solo cover by recording and mixing his drums.

Original Songs Come to Life
Daniel J. Mount is a prolific songwriter who explores rich concepts and vast musical directions. Taking his songs from rough drafts to stunning arrangements, Ben and his brother Sam conveyed the spiritual message and emotional impact of each song. Daniel recorded his vocals remotely, and Ben mixed them into tracks he and Sam created.
